Lansing, Mich.--The former Hartford Chief of Police is accused of selling controlled substances, stealing controlled substances, and using her influence to extort others to provide her with controlled substances. 57-year-old Tressa Beltran retired as the chief earlier this year. She was in court today and is facing nine separate counts, including eight felony counts and one misdemeanor. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessell announced the charges, which were filed in the 7th District Court in Paw Paw. Beltran is also accused of illegally possessing several different types of controlled substances and embezzlement. Here are the charges Beltran is facing.
