| Description: | 1st Amendment Audit 1st Alarm Co. Aptos, CA (( Follow up )) In this audit I’m doing a follow up from my previous encounter I had near the beginning of the year. Near the beginning of the year I pulled over across the street from 1st Alarm Co. In Aptos, CA to get some shade & make a few calls. I wasn’t doing a audit at the time. I noticed a couple of the management from 1st Alarm eyeballing me so I started to record. They came over and we had a conversation in which they told me the whole street was private so I agreed to leave peacefully. After I left I did notice the sheriff came over and I did talk to the sheriff and they even told me there was no laws being broken and they can’t believe they called them for this. I told the 1st Alarm people I’m going to do some research and be back so here’s what I found out: The street I was on Estates Drive is a small dead end road that technically at one point a long time ago the first 200 feet belonged to Caltrans however: Caltrans relinquished that 200’ to the City or County but the City or County didn’t except it. It is definitely a tricky piece of land as if there’s a pothole the city won’t come out and fix it whatever it doesn’t belong just to random residence it’s kind of a mystery piece of land bottom line there’s a sidewalk leading from the main street so it’s still public access at least the first 200 feet.
